This book races along telling the story of Jason, a young officer who finds himself prematurely in charge of his own vessel. The main portion of the story takes place in and around Jamaica in the 18th century, where Jason leads highly successful raiding parties on enemy ships, while on land he entertains a succession of ladies, including a mistress and a wife, whose lives become irrevokably entangled.
It is written with a fast paced style that leads you on from chapter to chapter. I highly recommend it and can't wait for the sequel.
